$1M BACK TO SCHOOL BONANZA: RESELLER’S APPLE MEGA-SALE

Queensland reseller Secure Access has won a contract with Matthew Flinders Anglican College on the Sunshine Coast in a deal worth more than $1 million.

As a part of the project, Secure Access deployed 117 iPad Air 2s, 554 13-inch MacBook Airs and 50 MacBook Pros, including installation and accessories.

The combined retail value of the hardware is more than $800,000, with the remaining cost understood to be for related services.

The school aims to have a 1:1 student-to-device ratio. Currently, Matthew Flinders maintains this ratio for its senior students.

Secure Access has worked with Matthew Flinders on its IT infrastructure for the past three years, but expanded its relationship with the latest deal with the full Apple hardware solution.

“It’s about empowering students to learn and adapt to the changing needs of the real world,” said Secure Access director Jason Garland. “We are very proud to be a part of providing these fantastic resources to Australia’s future leaders.”

The roll out was completed ahead of the deadline of the start of the 2015 school year.

Secure Access’ hardware solutions provide a range of Apple, PC, laptop and tablet devices that mainly cater towards education, although the company also supplies Apple products to commercial clients.

The Queensland provider lists Avnet as its distributor for Mac hardware.
